SouthernLINC Wireless Named the Official Two-Way Wireless Provider for South Georgia Classic, Bell Micro LPGA Classic and Navistar LPGA Classic
Regional wireless carrier to
sponsor professional golf events in Georgia and
Alabama
ATLANTA – April 25, 2008 – SouthernLINC
Wireless, a Southern Company (NYSE: SO), today
announced it has been named the official two-way
wireless provider for upcoming Nationwide Tour
and LPGA Tour events in Georgia and Alabama. As
part of the agreement, the company will provide
wireless service and phones equipped with Push
to Talk two-way radio functionality to organizers
of the South Georgia Classic, Bell Micro LPGA Classic
and Navistar LPGA Classic.

Defending champion John Kimbell and 155 of the
top professional golfers on the PGA Tour’s
Nationwide Tour are slated to compete in the second
annual South Georgia Classic. The tournament will
take place April 28-May 4, 2008, at the Kinderlou
Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Ga. Also scheduled
to play are current money leader Jared Lyle; former
U.S. Amateur Champions, Bubba Dickerson and Ricky
Barnes; and former University of Georgia stars,
Tommy Tolles, Franklin Langham and Chris Kirk.
The South Georgia Classic will benefit the South
Georgia Medical Center, a local, not-for-profit

Later this year, the Bell Micro LPGA Classic will
be held Sept. 8-14, 2008, in Mobile, Ala. on the
Crossings Course at Magnolia Grove on the Robert
Trent Jones Golf Trail. Rising stars Natalie Gulbis
and Cristie Kerr are scheduled to headline the

The second annual Navistar LPGA Classic will be
played on Sept. 22-28, 2008, in Prattville, Ala.
on the Senator Course at Capitol Hill on the Robert
Trent Jones Golf Trail. The tournament will feature
a full field of players, including last year’s
runner up Stacy Prammanasudh and the world’s
No. 1 female player Lorena Ochoa. For

Both LPGA Tour events will award purses of $1.4
million each.
All three tournaments will be televised on The
Golf Channel. The final field of players will be
named prior to each respective event.
