MyLINC Enhancement

 

A new, enhanced version of MyLINCTM will go into effect July 13, 2008. Here are some FAQs that will help you understand the benefits and limitations of this enhanced service.

 

Why is SouthernLINC upgrading the MyLINC browser software?
 

Some MyLINC users have experienced mixed results accessing Web sites. With the old version of MyLINC, there was limited accessibility to Web sites, bookmarking was cumbersome and some sites were not viewable. The Information Systems and Product Development teams at SouthernLINC Wireless took customer feedback, explored options and created a new enhanced version of MyLINC that makes it easy to navigate to popular, content-rich Web sites.

 

What will I need to do to get the enhanced version of MyLINC on my phone?
 

. If you are a current MyLINC subscriber, all you need to do is turn your phone off and back on anytime after July 13, 2008. If you are not a MyLINC user, you may call Customer Support at 1-800 818-LINC (5462) to activate a subscription and begin enjoying the benefits of browsing the Internet from your SouthernLINC Wireless phone.

 

What are some of the benefits of the enhanced version of MyLINC Web browser?
 

The main benefit is improved access to popular sites that are rich in content and graphics, such as Yahoo!, Google, MySpace, Hotmail, CNN, Charles Schwab, MSN Messenger, Facebook and much more.

 

How does the MyLINC enhancement affect current customers?
 

MyLINC users who created a customized bookmark listing of their favorite sites will lose that listing; however, many sites that were bookmarked by customers have been added to the new MyLINC main page.

 

How do I get my favorite Web site added to MyLINC?
 

Send a request to the SouthernLINC Wireless Product Development team at SoPDS@southernco.com giving the Web site address. The Product Development team will evaluate the request based on Southern Company’s Code of Ethics and compatibility with all of our phone model browser versions. If the request is granted, the requestor will be notified and the site will be added to the appropriate section.

 

Will there be any change to the way customers download ringtones or wallpapers?
 

A. No, but during the weekend of the enhancements, users will not be able to access downloads. The process to download ringtones and wallpapers remains the same. To download by phone, go to Main Menu -> Browser Apps -> Tones, Games & More.

 

Who do I call if I am having difficulty with MyLINC Web browser?
 

Contact the technical support group at SouthernLINC Wireless by calling 1-800-818-LINC (5462) or by dialing 611 from your SouthernLINC Wireless phone.
